Even though the kids are back in school, I still find myself busier than ever. Last week I worked hard to find some balance in my new routine. I thought I would share a couple of cleaning tips with you, and I would love to hear yours!
Last week I implemented a few new time-saving techniques into my cleaning routine:
** I made a list of cleaning duties that need to be done daily, weekly, and monthly! This list has helped me feel in control (hey, I know I’m not, but it’s nice to make-believe). I am a list maker, so it works for me.PS: I forgot to put laundry on the list :), guess which chore I hate, lol!
** I also started using a “timer” approach to everything! I am a very competitive person (Even with myself), so I try to get more done during my hour each day. When I get home from dropping the boys off, I will set the timer for one hr and clean as much on my list as possible (I can now complete the whole list and a few loads of laundry). I also set the timer to play with the girls. I set it for one hr and don’t let ANYTHING interrupt our playtime! It has been awesome!
** I am teaching my 2-year-old daughter how to clean. Sure, she’s only two, but you would be amazed at what a toddler can do! She helps me unload the dishwasher, switch out the laundry between the washer & dryer, pick up dirty clothes, and clean her room! You will save yourself lots of time in the long-run if you start working with your kiddos at an early age. My boys are excellent about cleaning up after themselves. They enjoy helping (most of the time). They were taught how to clean at a young age, and I have never come into their “clean” room to find stuff in the closets or under the beds! Trust me; you need to start young!
There you have it! These are the things that make my constantly cleaning life a little easier!
I would love for you to share your tips!
