5 Easy Ways To Jump-Start Your Day: Mom Edition

Sharing is caring!

Today I’m sharing 5 easy ways to jump-start your day. Being a mom is challenging, regardless of how many are in your fold.

As a mom of four, I have found that how my day begins usually determines how it ends.

I aim to ensure I set myself and my family up for success. If you need help with your mornings, look at some things we have implemented in our home. I hope you find these tips as useful as I have.

5 Easy Ways To Jump-Start Your Day: Mom Edition

These are my suggestions, and I would love to hear the easy ways you jump-start your day and what works best for your family.

We always look for ways to improve our morning routine and appreciate your feedback.

#1 Read Your Bible:

Nothing compares to spending time with Jesus, and it’s time to prioritize it!

It won’t be easy at first, but once you make it a habit, you will reach for your Bible without a second thought.

I started by writing in my prayer journal and reading a chapter in the Bible. Now, after five months, I notice a difference when I miss a morning.

The best way to start the day is with my eyes on Him. That gives me the right focus and helps me to remember that nothing happens in my day that doesn’t filter through His loving hands.

Start simple. An easy way to jump-start your day may include starting with one paragraph or maybe even one verse of scripture.

But seek first the kingdom of God and his righteousness, and all these things will be added to you” Matthew 6:33

#2 Make Breakfast Painless:

You’ve heard it a thousand times breakfast is the most important meal of the day.

While I would agree (though I enjoy all meals equally), I think it can be beneficial to have this meal planned out and prepared for every member of your home.

My breakfasts are super simple. I usually have Greek yogurt with fruit or a whole wheat breakfast sandwich. On the other hand, the kids really like mixing things up. To serve them and allow me additional time to read and pray.

Easy ways to jump-start your day include “grabable” breakfast items that can be made ahead of time!

I try to cook up a few batches of waffles each week so they can pop them in the toaster before school. Now that my daughter is old enough to cook, she also enjoys making batches of waffles.

You can also make freezable muffins and other fun breakfast foods your kids can grab on the way out the door. Here are ten questions you should ask your children in the morning!

#3 Organize Your Home:

Pay attention to what you waste time on each morning.

I found that we spend time each morning finding shoes, coats, and backpacks. To combat this problem, my husband created the masterpiece you see above!

I can’t tell you how much this book bag holder has helped curb the chaos around our home!

My kids put their book bags and coats away as soon as they get home, and after doing their homework, the kids clean up after themselves, and everything is ready for the next day!

Maybe you can never find your keys. Why not install a key ring holder at the door. It may seem small, but being organized can make a big difference!

Easy Ways To Jumpstart Your Day #4 Make A List:

I start each day with a practical and achievable “To Do” list. I also remember that flexibility is the key to a stress-free day, but planning is the only way I get things done.

At the end of the day, if anything remains undone from my list, I move it to the next day.

I also keep a dry-erase board on the wall to help me keep up with our menu plan and any activities we have scheduled for the week.

List making is in my nature. Heck, I love lists so much that I will make a list of every room I want to clean so that I can get that “accomplished” feeling as I check the boxes on my list.

Find what works for you, and do it!

#5 Spread The Love:

Have you ever considered a pre-dawn family board game?

What about playing hide-and-seek before your kids go off to school? If you homeschool this task is probably a little easier for you, but even if you don’t, it will be worth the sacrifice.

Giving your time is a great way to remind everyone in your home how much they are loved.

If you can’t make time to do an activity before your day starts, consider love notes in your husband’s lunch bag, special treats in your child’s lunch box, or just an extra ten minutes of cuddle time with your family before you go your separate ways.

Nothing feels better than knowing everyone left the house feeling special and loved!

What acts of love can you think of that would contribute to easy ways to jump-start your day?

Bonus Tips:

This bonus is my second favorite of the five listed above, which is why I give it the bonus title. After all, bonuses should always be awesome.

Go to the gym, walk around the block, or complete a routine by watching an exercise video.

Getting your blood pumping before anyone in the house wakes up is the best way to start your day fresh and full of energy. I wake up at 4:45 am to get my workout in because it’s THAT important to me.

Practice gratitude every single day! I am so thankful to be a mom, especially when so many people want to be parents but can’t have children.
