Tips For Hosting A Beautiful Holiday Cookie Swap

Sharing is caring!

Holiday cookie swaps have been growing in popularity over the past few years and why shouldn’t they? A cookie swap is a fun excuse to spend the day baking cookies and sharing your favorite recipes with friends.

Hosting a cookie swap can be a bit overwhelming, but it really doesn’t have to be. Today I am sharing a few tips to help you stay sane while hosting an unforgettable event for family and friends.

1: Don’t forget to make extra cookies to eat. Every cookie swap comes with unique rules so follow the rules for your cookie swap. Most cookie swaps involve making one or two different cookie recipes in bulk to bring to the party. Once you’ve made your bulk cookies break out some fun and unique recipes to share during the party.

2, Shapes, sizes, and colors. What are you passionate about? Do you love icing cookies? Do you have a secret recipe for the best chocolate chip cookie? Are you a cookie dough lover? Think outside the box and share cookies with guests that you enjoy baking or throwing together. I personally enjoy sharing baked cookie balls and raw dough balls to add a twist to the regular cookies I bake.

3. Decorate but keep it simple. If you are hosting your party in a small office at work or before you have a chance to decorate your home don’t let that stop you. All you really need to focus on is the table. This is a cookie party so make the cookies the star of the show. With a few simple cookie recipes, a beautiful serving tray set, and a table runner you will be all set.

4. It’s all in the details. Christmas plates and one or two Christmas themed decorations can set a festive atmosphere without compromising too much of your time.

5. Don’t spend a fortune. The majority of your budget will be consumable (the cookies and containers) so make sure you save money on any decor and serving trays you use. You want to get something that will last for years, but won’t break the bank!

I used these items for my holiday cookie party and they are exactly what I was looking for!
