Dear Angel and Ashley,
I dreamed of having sisters for as long as I can remember. Their names would have been Kimberly and Heather, but Angel and Ashley work too! While I was never blessed with biological sisters to call my own, the two of you have grown to be the sisters I have always wanted. Wildly different from each other, yet each offering your own beautiful contributions to our family.
Angel, you are the “pretty girl” I always wanted to be. With a flair for all things that sparkle and glimmer. You are so beautiful, but I fear that you can’t see what everyone else sees. Your smile and laugh can brighten any room, and you are my kind of crazy. I miss watching movies with you, and love how passionate you are about the things you pursue. You want to be the best, and I see a lot of myself in you.
This is what I want you to know. You are loved, you are gorgeous, and you have three amazing children who adore you. You enjoy giving, and you are a fun mom who knows how to take time away from the everyday stresses of life and throw a killer tea party! You make your home warm and welcoming. You thrive around people, and your friendship is a gift. You are loyal and willing to give your all to those you love. Just don’t forget that the people around you and how they may feel about you at any given moment, don’t make you who you are. You are strong and independent, and those qualities make the best Army wives.
I love you, and I am happy for you. You have been blessed with the opportunity to live in a land of beauty, but feel free to come home any time now! We miss you.
Ash, Ashville, Ashlykins, you are a weirdo! I think you and I were cut from some of the same fabric. You are so much fun, and your beauty exudes from everything you say and do. You have a heart for people. You are kind and compassionate, open minded, and forgiving.
You are a true gnerd, and an amazing mom. I love the way you see the world, and you inspire me to be less anxious and more care-free. I love our talks because I know I can tell you anything without being judged. I know you will be honest with me, and that you will make me think about things in a way I may not have before.
I loved living with you, and I miss you so much. I enjoyed learning little things about you, that until now only Charlie knew. Like how you talk to yourself, and dance around your house making up songs. You are confident and grounded, and you love my brother in a way no other person on the planet can, you know, like I do! 😉
This is what I want you to know. You are loved more than you know, you are gorgeous, and you have an amazing son who adores you. You make the world a better place simply by existing, and I can’t imagine my life, or Charlie’s life without you. You are hilarious, and fun to play with, and my kids think the two of you hung the stars.
To both of you, I appreciate how you both love my brother’s. I don’t ever want to think of them without you because they both love you so much, and even if they didn’t I would make them! You are my sisters, am I thank God for you. I truly got the best of both worlds. You are each so different, (much like my brothers) yet, I love you both equally (again like my brothers). You both bring such a mix of character and fun to our otherwise boring family (just kidding mom and dad).
I will love you forever!
Your favorite sister Shasta (you know it’s true)
PS: For anyone who may not know Angel and Ashley are real sisters! Cause that’s how Southern families roll! Brothers marry sisters, you know from other families! 😉
