We visited Pirates Cove Miniature Golf in June, and it was HOT! While I love being outdoors, playing 18 holes of golf with three adults and four kids (ages 12, 11, 7, and 5) can mean a LONG day!
Thankfully this course has a good amount of shade and a nice breeze blowing through. I don’t even think I broke a sweat, and it took us a few hours to get through all 18 holes.
The staff that greeted us was helpful and friendly. They told us about both courses making sure to let us know that the easiest golf course might be best for the kids. My husband being the mini-golf pro that he is, decided on Blackbeard’s Challenge, but the kids didn’t seem to mind. When they weren’t waiting for their turn, they were enjoying the awesome pirate ship, the waterfalls, and the lizards.
Before we started golfing, we spent some time in front of the building posing for photos. This course has tons of pirate-themed photo props so make sure you bring your camera and snap some fun memories before you play.
The course stayed pretty busy, but it didn’t feel overcrowded, and we never felt rushed. My older kids played first, so they were able to move to the next hole while we took our shots.
No one got bored, and no one complained, so I think the trip was a success. My husband did kick my butt after the 10th hole, so that was disappointing, but I guess I only have myself to blame for that one!
Once we finished the kids got some awesome pirate-themed goody bags, and they were thrilled about that. This also meant I got to enjoy lots of pirate talk for the rest of the day (which I enjoyed).
If you love mini golf, you’ll love this course!
