Today’ post for the 30 Day Marriage Challenge is all about the Marriage Books I love the most. I am an avid reader, and while I enjoy a good fiction every once in a while non-fiction books are my flavor of choice, especially when it comes to my marriage. I love it when I read a book and that awesome little lightbulb above my head starts to light up. The following books are all personally recommended by me. Meaning I have read them all and I loved what I read. Some books on marriage may have a few things I can glean from them, but these marriage books are books that are full of life changing stories, thoughts, and concepts. Of course they are all also written by Christians, but if you are not a Christian, don’t let that stop you from reading. I promise these books contain something for everyone!
Devotions For Couples:
The Song Couple’s Devotional –
The Love Dare
I love the movie Fireproof, and this devotional is perfect for anyone who feels like they are fighting for their marriage alone.
Marriage Books For Couples:
Sacred Marriage: What If God Designed Marriage to Make Us Holy More Than to Make Us Happy?
I have talked about this book before as well as Gary Thomas’ other book on this list A Lifelong Love.
Intended for Pleasure: Sex Technique and Sexual Fulfillment in Christian Marriage
Amazing book for all things related to sex in marriage. Just a warning, this book does have some illustrations that would need to be kept away from young eyes.
A Lifelong Love: What If Marriage Is about More Than Just Staying Together?
Love & Respect: The Love She Most Desires; The Respect He Desperately Needs
As a wife this book taught me so much about respect. I still struggle in this area and really need to read this one again. This is a must for couples looking to read together.
Marriage Books For Husbands:
The Exemplary Husband: A Biblical Perspective
The Power of a Praying® Husband
Obviously, I can’t say much about these other than this… My husband read these books, and as his wife I felt the impact of them in our marriage! Especially The Power of a Praying Husband!
Point Man: How a Man Can Lead His Family
Finishing Strong: Going the Distance for Your Family
Standing Tall: How a Man Can Protect His Family
Marriage Books For Wives:
The Excellent Wife: A Biblical Perspective
This one is a tough read, so take it slow, but it is oh so worth it!
The Power of a Praying® Wife – Possibly the best thing I have ever done for my husband was praying through this book for him!
Sacred Influence: How God Uses Wives to Shape the Souls of Their Husbands
This one will hit you where it hurts! I’m still hurting from some of what I read that I was completely convicted of.
Intimate Issues: Twenty-One Questions Christian Women Ask About Sex
Another great book about marital sex, but more geared towards women. I loved this book, it was easy to read and felt very conversational.
So there you have it. These are my favorite Marriage Books. I hope you will get a chance to read a few of them. If nothing else try to grab the devotional so you can read something short with your husband each night!
Happy Marriage 🙂

I am reading David Steele's book Radical Marriage. It's been very good so far, not so run of the mill and that's a plus. It seems like so many books all say the same things the same way, Steele's is a good read. radicalmarriage.com is his site for it, it's worth a look.
