John, has been trying to get me to go see Blue Man Group for about 3 years now! If I’m being honest, I will tell you, I didn’t understand all the hype. I mean really, who the heck wants to go see some weird ear-less guys banging on paint covered drums?
While we were in Orlando, John finally wore me down and convinced me that it would make for a great review, (good or bad) on my blog, so I decided to try it!
Wow, I was shocked! I knew as soon as I sat down that it was going to be a night to remember!
I absolutely love comedy, and had no idea that Blue Man Group was not only musical but comedic! It was hilarious in every form! John and I each have different ideas about what “funny” really is, and we both laughed our butts off.
I will also say about half way through the show I became VERY afraid. You see, last year at Disney I had a little encounter with a Disney act, that decided it would be funny to include a member of the audience… ME! So needless to say, when I realized that Blue Man Group
As far as the rating for this show, I’d have to rate the comedy a 10, and the music a 10+. The music was amazing! Had I known Blue Man Group rocked out like that, I would have already been to a few shows by now! In case your wondering, it’s not just the three guys jammin’, they have a band that will blow you away!
I considered taking the kiddos to the show, but I’m so glad we didn’t. I would definitely warn against taking infants and toddlers, as the music is what you would expect to hear at any concert… LOUD! As far as the other kids, I think they would have had a blast (they are 6 & 7). I would also recommend getting the “Poncho” seating if you are taking older kids, because getting “painted” looks pretty cool!
I don’t want to give the show away, so I will spare the details, and just say CHECK IT OUT! It makes for a high energy family fun night, or rockin’ date night! Seriously, you don’t want to miss it!
