My Take On Piggy Paint (What I Want You To Know)
I could not wait to have a daughter!
Coming from a family entirely of boys, I never thought I would experience the joys of having a daughter (especially after having two boys in a row)!
I was so excited when I found out I was having a baby girl, oh the things I would get to do now…..pigtails, PINK, dresses, nail painting, and sleepovers. So, needless to say, the day Lexi was born I was ready to paint her tiny nails!
Unfortunately, my husband (who I assumed was being overprotective of his little princess) told me he didn’t want her nails to be painted because she would put them in her mouth and possibly get sick.
Poor Lexi, in her whole 21 months she has only had her nails painted once, Until I learned about Piggy Paint nail polish!
When I read about Piggy Paint, two things happened, first, I realized my husband might have been right (I will get to that in a minute). Secondly, I knew was a product I had to try! So that’s what I did!
When I got the polish and remover in the mail, it also came with the story behind Piggy Paint, which you can read in full.
Basically, Melanie (fellow mom and maker of Piggy Paint) was painting her daughter’s nails when the polish dripped onto a Styrofoam plate, started to bubble, and burned through the plate!

Uh, say what? That is precisely what I thought (before secretly thinking “No way”), so I had to try it myself. I was floored!
I could not believe that I had used such a harsh product on my baby girl’s precious little fingers and toes! So, to my wonderfully brilliant husband…..sorry I doubted you!
Now that I knew I couldn’t use that other junk anymore, I wondered, ” Will this stuff measure up?”. I painted Lexi’s nails with natural nail polish, and I was sold!
This polish goes on better than regular nail polish and I know it’s safe. The polish doesn’t seem as thick and goopy as other polishes, which is a definite plus when trying to paint a moving target!

I also LOVE the polish remover. It has such a mild scent that I didn’t believe it would take the polish off unless I used it on a Brillo pad, but it did the job quickly and easily!

Just a note: This is a natural nail polish that peels off rather quickly. While this may bother some people, I prefer this nail polish because my girls like to have their nails painted every few days.

I used to use piggy paint until I found a much better alternative. *Some of piggy paints products were recalled in Canada. I did some research and found a water based non-toxic nail polish to use on my DD. It is called Bo-Po Nail Polish and it is absolutely wonderful, vibrant and smells great. The best is it doesn't use a remover at all. It peels right off! Which my 2y/o LOVES. It's like a fantastic game for her. Just thought I'd add my 2 cents!

I adore this! I have two little girls (and one boy but we won't mention this in front of his Dad) that love polish! I don't allow it frequently though because they chew it right off their nails! I love your great, bright colors! Definitely a must-have stocking stuffer!
