2016 is right around the corner and if you’re anything like me you have probably started thinking about what you can do to get heathier in the year to come. While I didn’t take a break from Keto over the holidays I did start planning my fitness routine. I have done really well maintaining my weight loss this year and I know that the only way I can step up my health plan is to start going back to the gym. With that in mind I would like to share a new year recipe with you today. I don’t usually drink, but when I do I try to make sure I am preparing drinks that are as healthy as possible. Last night I created my very first alcohol recipe and it was surprisingly delicious! Having never made a drink recipe like this before I wasn’t sure how it would turn out, but everyone agreed that my Light Lemonberry Rum really hit the spot!

The key to creating your own healthy drink recipes is focusing on every ingredient. Alcohol is generally high in calories so try to stick to one shot per drink. When purchasing mixers try to stick to natural mixers like fruits and veggies, and always opt for sweetners like Stevia. Blueberry Rum Recipe

  1. Place blueberries, 1 Tbsp of lemon juice, and Stevia in a small saucepan and bring to a boil. While blueberries are heating up smash the blueberries to release as much juice as possible.

  2. Once you’ve gotten as, much juice as possible from your blueberries use a sieve to strain your blueberry syrup.

  3. Place an XL ice cube in a 6oz cocktail glass and add one shot (1 oz) of White Rum. Then add a double shot (2 oz) of blueberry syrup. Finally, fill with DASANI Sparkling Water Lemon.

  4. Lightly stir and garnish with a lemon slice and blueberries (optional).

  • White Rum (1 oz per drink)
  • Blueberries (1/2 cup per drink)
  • Stevia (2-4 Tbsp per drink)
  • Lemons (or 1 Tbsp lemon juice)
  • DASANI Sparkling Water (Lemon Flavored)

Instructions
