Losing weight and staying healthy are always on our minds, but there is a certain hope that comes with a new year that pushes people to get motivated and make changes in their lives. With that in mind, and thanks to my first Babbleboxx I have decided to share some Tips For A Healthy New Year with you!
Tips For A Healthy New Year:
These are tips that have worked well for me over the years, and I hope you find them helpful as well!
Drink Water: I know, you've heard it your entire life, but it's time to make a change. Starting today, you need to drink at least six ounces of water before you have a cup of coffee or tea. Then every time you use the restroom you need to drink another four ounces. Don't sip it, go ahead and chug it so you can move on with your day.
Trash The Sugary Soda: There, I said it. It's time to toss the sodas (even diet sodas) and start making better choices. If you need cold or hot drinks in your life (like I do) that feel like a treat make a switch from soda to tea and sweeten it with liquid Stevia in it.
I love tea. Hot or cold, sweet or unsweet, it all tastes great to me, but I didn't always feel this way. I used to be a diet soda drinker, but I haven't had a diet soda in over six months, and I don't plan ever to have one again. I realized that diet sodas were the cause of swelling in my hands and feet as well as migraines, and I do not miss that!
This past week I tried Stash Tea for the first time, and I enjoyed it. I like to drink lavender teas before bed, and the Stash Lavender Tulsi Herbal Tea hit the spot. It's a soothing organic tea that promotes a sense of calmness and serenity.

Be Prepared: Nothing can throw you off your game like a cold (or worse the stomach virus). While there isn't much we can do (besides a healthy diet and exercise) to prevent getting sick we can be prepared when we feel the sniffles coming on.
The next time your out, toss some Cold-Eeeze Cold Remedy into your cart and stock up on tissues, hot and cold packs, and anything else you will need if you or a family member gets sick. I don't know about you, but shopping while I'm sick is never fun.
Spend Money On Yourself: When was the last time you went shopping for something you didn't need? I hardly ever make purchases for myself that aren't a necessity. This year I am trying to get better at saving money to splurge with. I don't consider many things a necessity, so new make-up and beauty products are never at the top of my list. The funny thing is that these products make me feel great, and I love trying new make-up. As long as you're not going to put yourself in financial ruin, attempt to plan a monthly shopping trip where you purchase a few fun new items for yourself.
If you haven't tried Dickinson's Witch Hazel wipes, you should add them to your list. My mom has always used witch hazel, so I have been a lifelong fan! I think of wipes as a splurge, but I have to say they do make my skincare routine a lot quicker, so they are totally worth it.
Dickinson's Original Witch Hazel Wipes make a great natural alternative to chemical laden cleansing cloths, and they help restore moisture giving you clean and balanced skin.
Go Gluten Free: I know, I know it seems like a fad, but I can tell you that tossing the gluten has changed my life. I live a ketogenic lifestyle, so I never eat anything that contains gluten. When I did try to reintroduce gluten into my diet, I found myself bloated and miserable. If you feel bloated after eating or fatigued going gluten free may be just what you need.
Going gluten free can seem challenging, but thankfully there are many convenient options available that will help you out in the kitchen.
Birch Benders is a natural, organic, just add water pancake mix that is also gluten free. It doesn't get much easier than that, and the kids won't even know you've changed their diet!
So there ya have it. These are just a few of my favorite tips for a healthy new year. Get healthy stay happy! Have tips you'd like to share? Email me or comment below.
