James: My Favorite Verses

Study-Book-Of-James

I decided to take the weekend off. We had two birthdays to celebrate and my parents came to visit so I felt like I needed to break away from the computer for a bit.

When I think about my favorite verses, the book of James quickly comes to mind. James is probably my favorite book of the Bible, and it was my “book for the year”. Of my favorite verses James 1:2-3 was my verse for the year, because I have been and still am facing trials. Trials with my job, trials with my health, trials of life and death. My life has been so blessed this year, in so many ways, but it’s never without trials. I’ve never met anyone who didn’t have some type of trial whether large or small. Though I’m pretty sure they always seem large to the person who is going through them.

For today’s post I am going to share some of my favorite verses from James.

Are any of these favorite verses, your favorite as well? Do you ever feel like you need to be reminded that His grace is enough? Do you ever feel convicted by James’ call to action? I know I do. I love opening the word and being reminded that I don’t have it all together, even when I see no wrong in myself (yes, that happens from time to time).

I also love to be reminded that this is a race, though not won by speed, won by perseverance. We are all running the same race, and if we can remember that our reward is right around the corner, it makes this race that much more bearable. When we can visualize an end to pain and suffering and know that we have a reward waiting, it makes the journey all the more sweeter.

We are blessed to serve a God who doesn’t leave us in the dark. He left behind a helper that lives within us, and the word. Do you have a life verse? If so, what is it?

What are your favorite verses from James?
