Halloween Tin Can Ghost

Sharing is caring!

This Halloween Tin Can Ghost craft is a direct result of the inspiration I had last night while cooking supper. I was opening the soup cans that were part of my recipe and thought “These would make awesome Halloween decorations with little effort.” It turns out; it was true. This darling Tin Can Ghost was hanging outside within hours of my thought!

Halloween Tin Can Ghost Craft Tutorial:

One of the things I like about this craft is, other than being super simple, it is also quick and can be completed by a kid with a little help.

What you need to make your Tin Can Ghost Craft

Supplies List:
Clean tin can
White Spray Paint
String or twine
White Plastic Trash Bag
Black Marker
Scissors
Tacky Glue
Wiggly Eyes
Hammer
Nail

How to make your Tin Can Ghost Craft

Step 1: Make sure your can doesn’t have any sharp or jagged edges. Soak tin can in water inside and out to clean it and soften up the label. Clean the inside and remove the label.

Step 2: Use the hammer and nail to punch a hole in the bottom of the tin can.

Step 3: Spray paint the can white. Allow to dry completely.

Step 4: Cut a piece of string or twine and thread it through the hole in the bottom of the can making a loop for hanging. Tie a knot in the string/twine so that the ghost can be hung up.

At this point, kids should be able to do the rest of this project.

Step 4: With the black marker, color in the eyes and mouth on the can. Allow to dry completely.

Step 5: Cut the white plastic trash bag into strips. Glue the wiggly eyes on the can.

Step 6: Glue the ribbons of the white plastic bag inside the can to make streamers.

There it is. Simple as pie. Once it’s dry, the Tin Can Ghost Craft will be all ready to hang up for Halloween.

Happy Halloween!
