Giving It All Away Book - Hobby Lobby - AD

Giving, Hobby Lobby, and God has been sponsored by Hobby Lobby. All opinions are my own!

I love how God works in my life. I have always been a giver, and I know that God has given me a heart that desires to give but my heart and reality don’t always line up as well as I would hope. People in my life have always been there to warn me about giving and have frankly believed I was a little crazy when it comes to giving so much.

I’d be lying if I said that other people’s reactions and advice had not affected me. Sadly it has been easy over the years for these voices to drown out the voice of God or make me doubt that it’s God I’ve heard in the first place and not myself. That’s why I love everything about the new book “Giving It All Away… And Getting It Back Again

I feel like this book was written just for me. I have always questioned how much I should be giving as a “smart entrepreneur,” and this book helped me answer that question.

I have never read anything about David Green or Hobby Lobby. I’ve heard about the case, and I know Hobby Lobby is a Christian company that stands their ground, but that was all I knew before reading this book. I enjoyed learning more about Hobby Lobby the business, and the people behind it. It was also interesting to find out more about the widely publicized insurance related court case.

While the history and stories about Hobby Lobby are great to read about nothing compares to the messages about building and leaving a legacy and giving. This book is full of precious resources and information that will help you no matter where you find yourself on the giving journey.

Here are just a few of my favorite takeaways from this book:

-The reminder that only what’s done for Christ will last.
-The lesson that we are blessed so that we can be a blessing.
-Teaching on what a legacy is and how we can pass it down to those who follow behind us.
– Guidance on how to chose where to give! This one was extremely helpful to me.
– Focusing on more than money: Integrity, Ethics, and Heart.

I love knowing that I am free to listen to God’s prompting on my heart without being a foolish business person. I would be foolish not to listen to God!

I have often felt like I need to be doing “Christian work” if I want to please God and after reading this book, David Green gave me a new perspective. God can use me in his Kingdom Work with the gifts and passions he gave me as an entrepreneur! I don’t have to work in ministry to have a life of ministry! That is life changing!

I can not say enough good things about this book. I think everyone should read it and I will be passing this along to my husband.
