Evenflo Symphony LX Car Seat Review

~ I participated in this Evenflo Symphony LX Car Seat Review campaign on behalf of One2One Network and Evenflo. All opinions are my own.

When I found out that I was going to be reviewing a new car seat from Evenflo (the Evenflo Symphony™ LX to be exact), I knew that Anna was going to be thrilled. This child loves a new car seat, the same way most kids love getting new toys. Anna is the baby of the family, and in some ways, it shows. She cannot go on a car ride without a nap, but lately, she has been complaining that her booster seat is uncomfortable, and she can’t sleep in it. A while back, we replaced Anna’s baby car seat with a minimalist style booster seat. This was a huge mistake. Because the seat is very thin and has very little padding, Anna had nowhere to lay her head and would often fall over when trying to nap. While this may not seem like a big deal to you, try riding 3 1/2 hours twice on the weekend and see if it doesn’t make you want to pull your hair out! 🙂

Evenflo Symphony LX Car Seat Review: Child’s Reaction

Now that is a happy child! She sat in it inside the house all day. Watched TV in it, colored in it, ate lunch in it. I don’t know what it is about car seats, but she will be a very sad girl when she no longer needs one. After we had installed the Evenflo Symphony™ LX Car Seat, I didn’t expect to get to test it out as much as we did, but it worked like a dream. We visited our hometown for a wedding, and my mother-in-law was admitted to the hospital so, all in all, I made four 3 1/2 hour trips, and Anna slept every single time. She not only fell asleep but slept longer than she ever did in her other booster seat!

These naps matter to me because if I am a   distracted driver, I put myself and my children at risk. If you have a child like mine, you know nothing can be more distracting than a crying baby or toddler. According to a study conducted by American Baby and Safe Kids Worldwide, new moms are 300% more likely to get into an accident than other drivers, in part due to tending to an upset baby. That’s why it’s so important to choose a seat that your child will be comfortable in. A happy child makes a pleasant driver.

Evenflo Symphony LX Car Seat Review: Mom’s Thoughts:

Besides being comfortable my favorite thing about the Evenflo Symphony™ LX car seat is the SureSafe latch system. Did you know that  70% of car seats are incorrectly installed? The new Evenflo SureSafe System increases proper installation by 2x, compared to standard latch, that’s pretty impressive. My husband and I had no trouble installing this car seat, and it is easy to move from vehicle to vehicle, which is great for us because we are always riding with the family, or moving the seats around in the van.

Evenflo developed a system consisting of Quick Connector™ LATCH and Guides that increases proper installation by 2X compared to installation with standard LATCH hooks! LATCH guides act as a tunnel, making it a cinch to find your vehicle’s lower anchors. The Quick Connector™ LATCH easily attaches and detaches the seat from the car with one hand for a smooth transition between cars.

If all of that weren’t enough to convince me that this is the best car seat we have ever used, the Evenflo Symphony™ LX car seat is equipped with e3 Side Impact™ Protection – three layers of engineered foam designed and tested to reduce side impact forces up to 50%. This is huge for us because with two kids in car seats, and four kids total, placing our children in the center seat (the safest in the vehicle) isn’t an option. If we were to get hit from the side, one of our daughters would be taking the brunt of the impact. While I hate to think like this, I don’t have a choice, it’s a fact, and my kid’s safety needs to be my top priority to providing the safest seat possible, is not an option it’s a necessity.

So what do you think of the Evenflo Symphony™ LX Car Seat?
