Cricut Christmas Cards Tutorial: For Beginners

Sharing is caring!

Today I’m sharing an easy Cricut Christmas Cards Tutorial! If you’ve never done this before, don’t fret it’s super simple!

The cards shown here are quick and easy to make.

Last year I sent larger cards out and was shocked when I learned how much my postage bill would be. This year I wanted to make a smaller card so that all I would need would be a $0.44  postage stamp to mail them. These cards fit perfectly into the personal small white envelope that you can buy anywhere for under $3.00 for 100. I only spent a few minutes on each card, but am pleased with the results.

I am also going to print out a small letter in color catching up all my loved ones with the news from the past year. I will put one of these in each card. You could also enclose wallet-sized photos of your children or family as well. I hope that my family and friends will enjoy the cards more since I made them myself.

Cricut Christmas Cards Tutorial:

I thought I would share this with you since most handmade cards are larger and usually require special envelopes. I wanted to let you know that handmade cards can be both fun and affordable.

Cricut Christmas Cards Tutorial Supplies:

8 1/2 X 11 Cardstock (white, green and burgundy)
Ribbon and scissors
Folding tool
Christmas stamps and ink
Sanding block or sandpaper
Adhesive
Cricut

How To Make Cricut Christmas Cards:

Step 1: Cut the white cardstock down to 6 1/2 x 7 inches.

Step 2: Fold and smooth the fold with the folding tool.

Step 3: Cut a piece 1 1/2 ” by 4″ from white and a piece that is 2″ x 5″ from the green or the white.

Step 4: Stamp your image on the white and sand the edges with your sanding block to distress them. Then rub the sanded, stamped white piece across your stamp pad to add the color around the edge. Sand your green or burgundy piece the same way and rub on the stamp pad to distress and color the edges of it.

Step 5: Put adhesive on the back of the white stamped piece and place in the center of the green or burgundy piece. Then put adhesive on the back of the colored piece and center it inside your card.

Step 6: For the front of the card you can either stamp a word or cut one out with the Cricut. I cut mine out with the Cricut. Then you can either stamp and cut out an ornament or cut one with the Cricut.

Step 7:  After putting the ribbon on the ornament and tying it, glue it onto the front of your card. If you cut out your word, glue it onto the front of the card.
